While my twitter name may be @pleasebringcake, there are times when cakes must not only be accepted, but also delivered to friends in need.

I love my friends at the Royal Edinburgh Tattoo. As they work tirelessly through the last week of the 2012 show, I felt the need to send them something to give them strength. Something…Canadian. Something to make a lighting designer’s 70′s moustache grow another inch out of sheer crumbs-in-your-tache glee.

Thanks to the wonder of the Interwebs, I contacted the glorious Mimi of Mimi’s Bakehouse, and asked her to make a special delivery of Nanaimo Bars. These Canadian treats are sweet enough to give even the most exhausted retail manager a boost.

My giving ways have paid off, for in return I have received photos of said Nanaimo Bars with a view from the Tattoo stands. I thought the wee umbrella is a lovely extra flourish.

Thank you, Mimi, for your last minute awesomeness, and the biggest squeeze imaginable to all of the Tattoo clan. Ah’m missin youz, so ah um.
