I am making a special exception to the “must be cake” rule, as I am so thrilled to have received this photo from Victoria, taken in Algonquin Park.
Victoria used up some leftover buttermilk to create homemade cranberry and lemon scones, and took them along as part of a picnic to Algonquin, an Ontario provincial park between Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River.
“The first (and best) hiking trail we took was Lookout (40kms from the west gate) and it took us up to a fantastic plateau with views looking west over the park. The lake in the back ground is called Lake of Two Rivers. It was gorgeous…and the scones tasted great!”
Thanks, Victoria! If you happen to be out in a national park with some cake, think of me and take a photo.
