Seven cakes and a view of Glasgow

While I would guess that few people spend their time scrolling the internet searching for images of cakes with views, it is an impulse I cannot control and I am shameless in my addiction, especially when I come across such brilliant finds as artist Harry Bell’s painting “Seven Cakes and a View of Glasgow.”

Harry, a professional artist from Gateshead in Northeast England, says the view is from the viewing deck of The Lighthouse, while the cakes were in a Glasgow shop window. The two images blend together brilliantly, I think.

You can browse Harry’s portfolio on his website, or visit his blog. You can even follow the progress of the cake painting as Harry worked on it (and if you scroll down you’ll find Harry’s gorgeous mixed media work of a Belgian Bun from 2008).

Thank you Harry, for letting me share this beautiful painting. If anyone knows of any works of art depicting cakes with views, please email me and let me know.
